Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using Nemo (the “App”) and the related website at nemoagent.ai (the “Service”), you agree to these terms. They are written in plain English on purpose. If something is unclear, email hello@nemoagent.ai.

1. What Nemo is

Nemo is a free desktop application for personal financial management. It runs locally on your Windows or macOS device, optionally connects to your bank through Teller, and optionally uses an AI provider you select to power its smart features. A small auth service backs the cross-device sign-in and optional mobile pairing.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old (16 in jurisdictions where required) to create a Nemo account.
• You are responsible for keeping your password and your vault key (nemo-vk-…) secret. The vault key is the second factor that protects your bank credentials — do not share it.
• You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Account.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Nemo to violate any law, including financial-services laws in your jurisdiction.
• Reverse-engineer the App except where local law gives you a non-waivable right to do so.
• Attempt to disrupt, attack, or probe the auth service, the mobile relay, or any other Nemo infrastructure.
• Use Nemo on accounts you do not own or have explicit permission to manage.

4. Third-party services

Nemo plugs into services you choose to enable:

• Teller for bank connections — you must agree to Teller's terms separately when you create your Teller application.
• OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or local LLMs for AI features — you bring and pay for your own API key. Your usage is governed by that provider's terms.

Nemo is not responsible for outages, billing, or policy changes at any third-party service.

5. The price

Nemo itself is free to download and use. There is no subscription, no paid tier, no trial period. You may incur small charges from your AI provider based on how much you use the AI features — that bill goes directly to them, not to us.

6. Intellectual property

Nemo, the Nemo name, and the Nemo logo are owned by us. The application binaries are licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use. The data you create inside Nemo (transactions, budgets, notes) is yours.

7. Disclaimers

Nemo is not a financial advisor. The plans, simulations, and AI suggestions are informational and based on the data you connect. They are not investment, tax, legal, or financial advice. Always make important financial decisions with appropriate professional guidance.

The App and Service are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We make no guarantee that bank syncs will be uninterrupted, that auto-categorization will be perfect, or that your AI provider will always be available.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Nemo and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the App or Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the prior twelve months — which, since Nemo is free, is zero.

9. Termination

You may stop using Nemo at any time and delete the App. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that show signs of abuse or fraud against the auth service.

10. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app on next launch. The current version always lives at nemoagent.ai/terms.
